Reverend Dave Voll
Senior Pastor

Rev. David A. Voll, who began serving St. Paul UCC on June 1, 2006, was born and raised in the Chicago area, where his father was a UCC pastor.  He attended UCC-related Lakeland College in Sheboygan, WI to major in music, but eventually switched to a religion major.  During those years he married his wife, Janise, whom he met at Tower Hill Church Camp.

“Pastor Dave” graduated from Lakeland in 1981, after which he began attending Chicago Theological Seminary (CTS) while also serving Zion UCC, Dyer, IN as Student Pastor.  He graduated with a Masters of Divinity degree from CTS in 1986, was ordained at Zion in 1988, and went on to serve in Dyer until 1992, a total of 11 years.

Washington Reformation UCC in Monticello, WI was the next congregation that Pastor Dave served, from 1992-1994.  After 2½ years there, he was called to St. John’s UCC in Archbold, OH, where he served as Senior Pastor until 2005 – a total of nearly 11 years.  The Volls left Archbold and served for a short time as co-managers of a retirement residence in the Columbus, OH area, after which Pastor Dave answered the call to return to parish ministry.  In the spring of 2006 the Volls purchased a home in Oak Harbor and he became Pastor at St. Paul.

Pastor Dave and Janise have two grown sons and two grandchildren.  Their older son lives with his wife (a music teacher) and children in Bluffton, OH; their younger son and his wife live in Ada, OH.  Both sons and one daughter-in-law are Music Education majors at Ohio Northern University.  The Volls still have ties to the Chicago area, where both sets of their parents still reside.
